29days before the Cup

I would say the biggest achievement of all was the athletic edge, the struggle for victory, the sporting atmosphere, and the drive that everyone — the athletes, the honoured guests and the spectators — all felt.

President of the All-Russian Swimming Federation
Four-time Olympic swimming champion

Dear friends!

Dear friends!

The Salnikov Cup International Tournament enters its second decade and it is time for changes. Initially, the competition was meant to be a meeting of the best Russian swimmers either recognized or getting started, but all having a high level of training and desire to develop in this wonderful sport.

That is why we start the second round setting new rules. Now sports achievements are in focus above all. Starting with this year the tournament admits only 300 best Russian athletes and 50 talented foreign athletes – prize-winners of major international competitions.

It perfectly reflects the mission of the Salnikov Cup: to hold the tournament where the strongest athletes meet, the tournament that gives an opportunity to compete with the winners of major world competitions. I am also sure that it is a good landmark for those who are going to devote themselves to this wonderful sport. It is a challenge. It is a test of strength. It is the first step to great victories.

Best wishes! Hope to see you in St. Petersburg on December 22-23!
